A Charleston woman died Monday afternoon of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover on Highway 35 south of the city.
Marilyn A. McIntyre, 66, was the driver of a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe that crashed on Highway 35 south of Cascilla Road. The incident was reported to the Charleston sheriff’s office at 12:06 p.m.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Juwan Harden said the SUV was traveling south when the vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned.
A medevac helicopter transported Ms. McIntyre from the scene to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Two passengers, Rosella Spearman, 77, and James E. Spearman, 56, both of Chicago, received injuries from the crash and were transported to Regional One Health, formerly The Med, in Memphis, the trooper noted. The extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.
