Well, the time has come to begin the release of the entertainment lineup for our Gateway to the Delta Festival on Oct. 12. We guarantee that this is going to be an amazing group of entertainers that will begin at noon and continue until the festival ends at 11 p.m.
We are very pleased to have the New Town Church Choir of Charleston and their accompaniment open our festival as they sing God’s praises. The choir will begin at noon after the conclusion of the Little Miss, Tiny Miss and Little Mr. Gateway Pageant.
Taking the stage after the New Town Church Choir will be the Party Band of the South® – The Krackerjacks!
The Krackerjacks is an eight-piece big horn sound and party-flair ensemble that has been impressing music fans and critics alike with their high-energy audience participation show. Their act is fast and fun and never fails to get the audience singing along at the top of their lungs and dancing to the classic party hits of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.
Formed over 44 years ago, The Krackerjacks quickly discovered their forte’ by becoming the Party Band of the South. The band has performed for weddings, corporate events, college parties, country clubs and festivals throughout the Mid-South. Specializing in classic horn-driven Motown, Stax and R&B favorites, their members include Charlie Ross (bass and vocals), Mike Dill (drums), Steve Lewis (guitar and vocals), Mark Hudson (trumpet and vocals), Randy McCormack (trumpet), Nate Murphree (trombone and vocals), Ricky “Toad” Johnson (keyboards and vocal), and Heath Beck (sound and lights).
Their members have extensive stage experience ranging from performing with previous acts, with some of the guys having started out exclusively with them. They bring vocal perfection and harmony to a variety of music genres, while concentrating on a performance to ensure a fun time for all by attracting audiences of all ages.
Over the years, The Krackerjacks have performed with such great acts as The Spinners, Sam and Dave, Restless Heart, B.B. King, Delbert McClinton, the late Percy Sledge, Dorothy Moore, Alabama, The Rascals, The Four Tops, The Coasters, The Marshall Tucker Band, Johnny Rivers, Bread, The Hollies and Exile.
Still today, the band continues to play for weddings, festivals and corporate events by bringing the best rock and roll and big horn sound that will get you up on your feet and out of your seat.
Again, they are the Party Band of the South®.
