Warm and pleasant greetings to all. We hope you are enjoying a good week.
Did you notice any signs of the solar eclipse last Tuesday?
Certainly, it was an emotional moment for many people watching on the ground in the total path. It must have been a phenomenal, stunning and beautiful experience making it spiritually accepted, too. Perhaps observing the entire sequence, as it came across, could be a moment one would relate to the “creation.”
“April showers bring May flowers” is an old English proverb heard most of our lives. Certainly we’ve had the rain. Enough water is provided in April for the beautiful blooms, plants and flowers we see in May.
The damaging wind left dead limbs and uprooted trees (that seemed not so deeply rooted!) in several places I noticed through the town of Charleston. The back door was blown off on a home in our community, but no harm or other damages to the family.
The rain, as usual, left much water in the fields, overflowing ditches and, of course, rough roads.
The Tallahatchie County Retired Teachers Association (RTA) met virtually for a regular monthly meeting Tuesday, April 9. Participation was good, making the meeting quite fruitful. The process for judging RTA High School Senior Scholarship applications was finalized. The scholarship committee will meet to select recipients and make announcements.
RTA members express appreciation to president Sevelda Taylor for her support to the officers and members in carrying out the organization’s goals and her concern for members’ well-being.
The meeting was officially adjourned until September. Information pertaining to TCRTA will be received by text or email until this time. There will be activities in which the RTA will participate and support during the summer.
Saturday, April 13, was a beautiful day for the Rally for a Cure. We hope other activities and events in the community were successful also. My pleasure as always is to meet and share loving greetings with everyone. We hope others were able to visit the Rally during the time to show their support. You can read more about the Rally in the American Cancer Society news column by president Brenda Walton-Willis.
Enjoy life today. Be blessed.
