There is nothing more heartwarming than the Christmas party ECF residents get to share with their families.
Today, we talk about the wonderful Dec. 20 gathering of Wing A that was filled with sons, daughters, sisters, brothers and grandchildren of our Extended Care Facility Wing A residents.
The residents had such support, looks of love and hugs as all gathered. The presents that staff and administration brought to meet the needs and wants of our resident population helped make it a wonderful gift-opening event.
With the leadership of the activity department, supported by the nursing and aide group, it was made even more special by photos taken during the party by Brittany that we can share with you.
The music was festive, the food was made and served attractively by the dietary department, and a slide show of our special people ran across our large-screen television throughout the party.
As we gathered, we did not forget the reason for the season, as Kim Ryals, activity director, enlisted our residents’ family members to read a poignant Christmas poem, the wonderful birth of Christ passages from Luke, and a prayer that drew us all to the final, fun stage: the food. As residents were served and families began to assist their loved ones, you could feel the love and the happiness, see lots of smiles and hear comments as they started to eat the holiday foods.
Wing A is a special place and we hope you enjoy these photos, as we want our community to share the special place that we are.
Extended Care Facility is a facility that cares and tries to be a welcoming place that keeps and encourages our families to come and bring those smiles to our residents that make our day special.
Merry Christmas from Wing A!
