We met this past Thursday night, April 18, for our regular meeting. The meeting was called to order by our president, Virginia Murphree. Alisha Pittman read the minutes from the previous meeting and they were approved.
Our devotion was given by Judy Martin, asking the question, “Who is Jesus?” This question has been asked many times and still we have a problem understanding it all.
Who is He? In chemistry, He turned water to wine. In biology, He was born without the normal conception. In physics, He disapproved of the law of gravity when He ascended into Heaven. In economics, He disapproved of the law of diminishing returns by feeding 5,000 men with two fishes and five loaves of bread. In medicine, He cured the sick and the blind without administering a single dose of drugs. In history, He is the beginning and the end. In government, it was said that He shall be called wonderful counselor, prince of peace. In religion, He said no one comes to the Father except through me. So Who is He?
He had no servants, yet they called Him master. Had no degree, yet they called Him teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. Who is He? He is Jesus, the Son of God the Father.
We got a report on a very successful bake sale the day before Easter. We appreciate the ladies who provided the baked goods, and the customers who came to buy.
Fruit baskets were sent to Marty Martin, Joe Matthews and Elva Jean Criswell.
The best part of the meeting was receiving a new member, Robbie Griffin. We welcome her to the Auxiliary.
