I made the little trip down the road to see the daffodils on the hill that Mark Hartley was talking about. They are so pretty. I wanted to stop and dig up a few but decided if I did, that would be the time Mark would drive by.
Trudy Simmons sent me word to please put in the paper about the curve down by the old post office. It is a dangerous curve and you really have to be paying attention when going around it. I know David and I have almost gotten hit several times, as well as Trudy, and I’m sure a few others. Please slow down, folks, going around this curve. As they say, “The life you save may be your own!”
I saw a picture with a man holding up two big fish. At first, I thought it was Bill Dance, but I looked again and saw they were catfish and Bill is a bass fisherman. Could it have been Milton Harper?
Sympathy to the Irma Ruth Nichols family of Tillatoba. Ms. Ruth passed away March 3 in Greenville with complications caused by COVID. Visitation was March 6 from noon until graveside service time in Woodlawn cemetery in Grenada. Mortimer National Funeral Home was in charge. Ruth was a loving person and she always had a smile for you. She had a way of making you feel like you were her best friend. Beautiful lady with a heart of gold.
Angela Purdy took her mom, Dixie Purdy, to Sardis Church of Christ Sunday morning and to lunch afterward. Dixie is at Azalea Commons in Batesville (formerly Providence). Dixie is looking good and I’m going to try and visit her as soon as this COVID goes back to wherever it came from!
Martha Box is one determined woman to get back in shape after her surgery. She is still working out and her knees are helping her to walk better. She says she’s kicking a bit higher, too. Working on those muscles, she even found a longtime hidden curve. Martha has a great neighborhood of caring, helpful people taking great care of a needy neighbor and she thanks each one. Jesus loves you all and so does the neighbor.
Vickie Lynn James and her longtime friend, Brandy Ellis of Greenville, went on a Carnival Glory cruise to Cozumel Mexico for a relaxing and fun-filled six days. I know they had a great time.
Rowland Hartley spent the night with his grandparents, Mark and Faye Hartley, Saturday night. He helped his grandmother pick up limbs and cleaned the yard some. He and Faye practiced ball. Rowland is a great ballplayer.
Ginger Box Harrison said they are waiting on spring break to get here. She and Phil have one son in college and one son in high school. Two very talented young men.
Tom Kendall is in the hospital with COVID and pneumonia. Please keep him in your prayers.

Happy birthday to Brian Bowman, Eddie Simmons and JR Dukes, who share a birthday on the 13th, and my up the road neighbor, Billy Edwards, who celebrates the 16th. This week’s recipe: “Apricot Coconut Balls”
1 1/2 cup dried apricots, ground
1/2 cup confectioner sugar
2 cups shredded coconut
2/3 cup Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
Combine apricots and coconut. Add Eagle Brand milk and blend well. Shape into small balls and roll in confectioner sugar. Let stand until firm.
Thought for the day: Some people spend the first six days of each week sowing wild oats, then go to church on Sunday and pray for a crop failure.
