Deborah McCool said she had a great day Sunday. There were lots of birthday wishes and it was her granddaughter Caitlyn’s birthday, too. “She is 22 already, can’t believe it,” said Debbie. “Daughter Kimberly and Jason Beavers fed us Domino’s pizza after church. Virginia and Sandy Beavers were there, too. I got several wonderful gifts from my kids and grandchildren. After Tommy got off work, we went to Grenada.” Sounds like a fun day for you and Caitlyn, Debbie!
Lynn Marceleno’s son and Jess came home for Thanksgiving holidays. And they went to the movies in Oxford. They had a great time. Lynn said she hated to see them leave out heading back to Virginia and asked for some prayers for safe travels back. She said they would be driving instead of flying. “Love my family and all our moments together,” Lynn said.
Sheryn Goode says she feels a lot better but her legs just won’t go. She said she can’t stand very long. “Had a quiet Thanksgiving Day. My good friend sent over a plate, enough food for several people, that friend being Martha Box,” said Sheryn. She said Frank and Freda Weir also brought a plate. Sheryn’s daughter, Dana Huffman, Lee and Linda Shelton, David Shelton and granddaughter, Charleigh Shelton, came down for the day. They went and put Christmas flowers out at the cemetery and then on to eat and more talk. It was a very good day visiting, said Sheryn.
On Thursday, Ginger and Phil Harrison and boys, Jake and Josh, had a fabulous time at Martha Box’s for Thanksgiving. “Food was plentiful and very good. So nice to see family and glad some of the cousins joined us. The rest should have been there. We missed them,” said Ginger. “On Sunday, we had a good lunch with Diane Hill and celebrated Linda Harrison’s birthday! We had a good time visiting with her.”
Bobby Joe McClanahan said he had a good crowd of family and friends on Saturday for late Thanksgiving supper.
Lila Myrick had her fourth time to get an injection in her eye last week. “I pray it’s slowing it down,” said Lila. I do, too, Lila!
Our Thanksgiving Day was a good one with daughter Donna Garripoli; son Timothy Sullivan; Brad, Francesca, and Bradley Holliday; and Miranda and Summer Procella. They did all the cooking and I made the dressing!
Martha Box is exercising strengthening her leg and arm muscles. “But on top of all I will do, I put it in our Lord’s hands,” said Martha.
Martha had a great Thanksgiving meal, and all she was allowed to cook was rolls. “Those kids did so good and Diane Nail Hill also came with great food. We could have fed Tillatoba,” said Martha. “Friday, I was thanked by several for the meal we sent them.”
Rissa Leachman, Martha’s granddaughter, had the tree up but standing there naked when she went to bed. She got up the next morning to a decorated tree. She said she does not know how those little elves did that without her hearing!
Martha expressed thanks for the prayers that the foot surgery will work well and that three months of not standing on that foot will not drive her crazy.
Kristie, Nathan, Rowland, Mary Brett and Mclendon Hartley ate Thanksgiving supper with Mark and Faye Hartley.
Happy anniversary to Frank and Freda Weir, who celebrated on Nov. 21.
