Tallahatchie County Emergency Management Agency on Thursday announced the opening of five emergency relief distribution centers, operating daily from noon until 7 p.m. through Sunday evening.
According to a post on TCEMA's Facebook page, "essential supplies" will be available at the sites, and hot meals will be served daily at 5 p.m. at each location.
The post did not specify which supplies would be offered, but in another recent post the agency mentioned the distribution of water, meals ready to eat, blankets, coats, personal hygiene items and "other essential supplies."
Listed in alphabetical order, the distribution center locations are:
» Paducah Wells Volunteer Fire Department, 2966 Paducah Wells Road
» Paynes Volunteer Fire Department, 8976 Mississippi Highway 35
» Philipp Volunteer Fire Department, 1195 Broadway St., Philipp
» Sharkey-Hampton Lake Volunteer Fire Department, 1162 Horton Drive
» Teasdale Ladies Auxiliary Building, 9657 Teasdale Road
"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers within the community for their countless hours of service. A special thanks to the United Cajun Navy for their supplies, MEMA [Mississippi Emergency Management Agency], Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture Andy Gibson, MS National Guard and the American Red Cross for their support," TCEMA added.
