The Sun-Sentinel office will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1, for the national Labor Day holiday. Because Monday is the normal public deadline day, an early deadline will be in effect for next week’s newspaper.
All items intended for publication in the Sept. 4 edition of The Sun-Sentinel must be submitted to the newspaper no later than noon this Friday, Aug. 29.
For more information about the deadline, call the newspaper office at 662-647-8462 or drop an email to clay@charlestonsun.net or krista@charlestonsun.net.
Labor Day is a holiday for the United States Postal Service, so there will be no mail pickup or delivery Monday. Don’t expect regular FedEx or UPS deliveries, either.
Federal and state offices also are scheduled to be shuttered, along with Tallahatchie County and municipal government offices throughout the county.
The day is an official bank holiday, so local financial institutions will be closed.
Local students also will get a long weekend, as schools in both the East and West Tallahatchie school districts will be closed on Monday.
