Ice buildup on roads and bridges continues to be a problem in Tallahatchie and adjacent counties, the Mississippi Department of Transportation announced in a 4:01 p.m. Wednesday press release.
MDOT expects related issues to continue until at least noon Friday.
Another round of wintry precipitation is anticipated Thursday in the form of freezing rain, with additional ice accumulations "of a light glaze," MDOT said.
"Conditions will be hazardous, especially on area bridges and overpasses, MDOT noted.
Impacted counties include Benton, Calhoun, Carroll, Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Lafayette, Leflore, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tunica and Yalobusha.
