GLENDORA — Three law enforcement agencies continue to search for leads in an early-morning Dec. 23 homicide case.
Kwaiyhone Hodges, 20, of 24 Gipson Ave., Apt. 5, Glendora, died from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head area, according to Tallahatchie County Sheriff Jimmy Fly, who said his office, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Glendora Police Department are probing the incident.
Fly said Glendora police found Hodges' lifeless body lying in the street on Gipson Avenue, near the Village Apartments where he lived.
Deputies were called at 2:29 a.m. that Saturday to assist, the sheriff stated.
"It looked like he was shot there" in the street, noted Fly, who said one 9 mm shell casing was recovered from near the body.
Hodges was pronounced dead at the scene by Tallahatchie County Coroner Ginger Meriwether, who transported the body for autopsy, Fly said. As of Friday morning, the autopsy had not been performed, he added.
The sheriff said officials have developed no motive for the killing.
"He had money in his pocket, so it doesn't look like it was robbery," Fly noted.
Officials are questioning local residents in their quest to develop a suspect, but public input is welcome.
"If anybody has any information, it would be greatly appreciated," Fly said.

"Our prayers for the family with everything they're going through," noted Fly. "It's tough to lose someone, but especially right here around Christmas. It's sad."
