Incumbent Ward 5 Charleston City Commissioner Perry Lee Herron was elected to a fourth term Tuesday, defeating Crystal Batteast, 103-54.
Herron, 61, the Democratic nominee, topped independent candidate Batteast, 40, in every statistical category.
In voting at the polls on a very rainy Tuesday, Herron topped Batteast, 45-27. He also more than doubled her in absentee balloting, 58-27.
A new four-year municipal term begins on July 1.
