A Spring Hill community teenager died Thursday night when her vehicle left Teasdale Road and struck a tree north of Charleston.
Isabella Renee Ford, 17, of 1420 Spring Hill Road, Oakland, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, just north of McNulty Road, said Tallahatchie County Sheriff Jimmy Fly.
Ms. Ford was driving home from her workplace, The Oaks at Sherin Farms restaurant, shortly after 9 p.m. when her southbound 2006 Dodge Ram pickup apparently failed to navigate a "sharp curve" and went off the east side of the roadway, noted Fly.
Tallahatchie County Coroner Anthony Hawkins pronounced Ms. Ford at about 10 p.m.
The sheriff said Newsom Funeral Home of Charleston will be in charge of arrangements.
"I would like to send my sympathies to the family," added Fly. "My thoughts and prayers are with them."
Ms. Ford recently completed her junior year of studies at Grenada High School.
