Creativity That Connects Community
How does creativity help strengthen a community?
Charleston’s creativity, culture, talent and stories continue creating new opportunities for connection across the community.
The Charleston Thrives Culture & Arts Working Group is focused on helping bring more visibility and momentum to the artists, creatives, cultural traditions, and shared experiences already shaping Charleston.
One early effort includes developing a local artist directory that helps connect artists and creatives to future collaborations, programming, and community opportunities.
Conversations also continue around expanded arts camps, youth creative experiences, cultural programming, and public engagement opportunities across Charleston.
Arts and culture help communities feel connected.
They create pride, participation, storytelling and shared experiences across generations.
The group is also exploring ways to celebrate Charleston’s landmarks, murals, artists and cultural identity through more visible public engagement and creative storytelling.
Perhaps most exciting is the growing collaboration taking shape between artists, schools, organizations, and community partners working together around a shared vision for Charleston’s creative future.
And that creative momentum continues growing.
If you see progress happening across Charleston, we hope you will share it with me and with each other.
