Identity of body found in drainage ditch confirmed as Arkansas woman

Authorities have determined that the body discovered Saturday morning in a watery drainage ditch near a Greenwood highway belonged to an Arkansas woman who they believe had been staying at a nearby hotel.
They still don’t know, though, what caused her death.

The 14-member Legislative Budget Committee, with Gov. Tate Reeves breaking tradition and not attending, adopted a revenue estimate Wednesday for the coming fiscal year of $6.49 billion — a $566 million increase over the projection used to develop the budget for the current fiscal year.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Friendship East Baptist Church with interment following in Friendship East Baptist Cemetery. Womble Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Havens.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Newsom Funeral Home. A graveside service and interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Paynes.
