The Tallahatchie County circuit clerk’s offices in Charleston and Sumner will be open from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, July 27, and again on Saturday, Aug. 3, to accommodate last-minute absentee voters.
Aug. 3 will be the last day that anyone may cast an absentee ballot in person in the circuit clerk’s office for the Aug. 6 primary.
Among those persons who are eligible in Mississippi to vote using the absentee ballot process are registered voters who are:
• Members of the armed forces or their spouses
• Persons who will be outside their county of residence on election day
• Persons required to work on election day during the period of time when the polls will be open (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
• Persons temporarily or permanently physically disabled
• Persons 65 years old or older.
