Craig Walker, longtime East Tallahatchie School District educator and coach, and founder and coach of the summer youth Mississippi Roadrunners Track Club, was honored Saturday (Oct. 12) as recipient of the 2019 Charleston Arts and Revitalization Effort’s (CARE) “Hometown Hero” award.
The award, presented during the Gateway to the Delta Festival in Charleston by Mayor Sedrick Smith and CARE Executive Director Carol Roark, honored Walker, in part, for his lifetime of dedicated service to the youth of Tallahatchie County.
