OAKLAND — The Oakland Area Chamber of Commerce has named Sue Donohue Smith executive director.
Smith has served on the chamber board of directors and as a volunteer for several years. She replaces founding director Linda Ross Aldy, who will remain on the board.
Aldy, who helped found the chamber and served as a volunteer executive director, will focus her efforts on community and economic development for Oakland.
“We are getting the best of both worlds in having Sue become our executive director and Linda continuing to serve on the board while focusing her efforts on development,” said Allen Welch, general manager of Ajinomoto and chamber president.
