The Rosebloom Recreational Park’s annual Independence Day celebration will be held on Saturday, July 5, according to park spokesperson Andrea Brasher Davis.
Organizers expect a large crowd to be on hand to help commemorate what this year is the nation’s 249th birthday.
While Davis said final details are being hammered out, she noted that the event will feature many familiar activities, including vendor booths offering a variety of wares, and food vendors serving up festive goodies like snow cones and funnel cakes, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs and other items to soothe the hunger pangs and to quench the thirst.
There will be special activities for children and plenty of toe-tapping, stirring music.
The grand finale, at about 9, will be one of the largest fireworks shows in the area.
Vendor booth space is still available at a rate of $100 for food vendors and $25 for others. For details, call or text Davis at 662-647-1752.
