New superintendent announced by East Tallahatchie School District

The East Tallahatchie School District has hired Raymond Russell of Greenville as new superintendent, school board President Bryant Watson revealed in a statement emailed to The Sun-Sentinel late Tuesday afternoon.

Watson said the board voted unanimously to hire Russell on July 26, and his first day on the job was Aug. 1.

Mississippi’s annual two-day sales tax holiday is scheduled to be celebrated by consumers late next week.
The 2023 sales tax holiday period, when state sales tax will not be collected or paid on purchases of specific products and/or services, will begin at 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 28, and end at midnight Saturday, July 29.
