W.W. “Bill” May, seated, longtime owner and publisher of The Mississippi Sun newspaper in Charleston, celebrated his 100th birthday last week. He is pictured with Tallahatchie County natives Becky and Ed Meek, now of Oxford. During his growing-up years in Charleston, Ed Meek worked at The Mississippi Sun under May’s guidance and they have remained lifelong friends.
