The Charleston High School Tigers swatted away the Union Yellowjackets, 40-14, Friday night to win the Class 2A North State championship and a state title game berth for a second consecutive year.

Bradford records 8-0 mark to win contest

La’Baron Bradford of Cascilla posted the week’s lone 8-0 mark to win the $30 cash prize during Week 12 of The Sun-Sentinel’s 2023 Football Fever Contest.
Finishing at 7-1 were Gyrone Kenniel, Keljuan Edwards, Bobby Reed, Roberta Redd and Nathan Brewer.

Charleston set to defend 2A North State title

For the 11th time since 2005, the Charleston High School Tigers’ varsity football team will vie for a North Mississippi championship and a state title game berth.
They will do so Friday night, when the 11-2 Tigers host the 12-1 Union High School Yellowjackets of Union, a city that straddles Neshoba and Newton counties.
