The Charleston High School Tigers will end the regular season with back-to-back Thursday night road games starting this week.
East Tallahatchie School District Athletic Director Michael Hargett said the game at Leland High School, originally scheduled for Friday (Oct. 25), will instead be played on Thursday (Oct. 24). Kickoff will remain 7 p.m.
"They are predicting rain on Friday, and Leland has senior night. It's their home game, so they want to play Thursday," noted Hargett.
He said Charleston agreed to Leland's request on Tuesday.
The regular-season finale at M.S. Palmer High School in Marks had been scheduled for Thursday night, Oct. 31, all along.
Traditionally, Charleston plays the last game of the regular season on Thursday so that the coaching staff can scout potential playoff opponents the following night. Palmer agreed to the earlier date.
