Tallahatchie and Yalobusha counties are among a total of three-dozen Mississippi counties included in a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect today until 10 p.m.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, issued the watch.
Also included in the watch are Attala, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Itawamba, Kemper, Leake, Lee, Leflore, Lowndes, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Neshoba, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Pontotoc, Rankin, Scott, Sharkey, Sunflower, Warren, Washington, Webster, Winston and Yazoo counties.
Damaging winds are said to be the primary threat from any developing storms.
