Congratulations to Adam Chambers and Jacque Dickey on their marriage Oct. 22. May you have many wonderful years to share your love for each other.

Christian love and sympathy to the family of Billy Gene Nelson of Oakland. Billy was such a sweet and loving person and he will be missed by many.
“Girl, it’s me again, said Martha Box, the “full-time work without pay nurse!” Martha added: “But nurses are like brick layers and truckers, always handy and helpful. And love every minute of it!”
Martha drove her brother Jesse Wortham and sister, Joyce Stevens to the eye doctor for a check-up Thursday. Then, she and her great-nephew Wyatt, had a good time shopping until pickup time! Joyce bought them a great fish lunch at the Corner Friday, where they had “good cooking, good service and a spectacular cake.”
Martha Box attended a great service at Pine Grove Baptist Church Sunday on Pastor Appreciation Day. The singing was so special, and Martha said sitting close to Josh and Jake Harrison as they sing together is soul-filling! “Tears flowing and love felt all over. Even the crowd of hunters visiting added to the Spirit of today’s message! And the meal following, so well-prepared by those good cooks. So good!”
Martha took dessert to Sheryn Goode’s after church Sunday, where they enjoyed coffee and “catch-up talk.” Martha said Sheryn loved daughter Ginger’s cake as much as she did.
Debbie McCool said they had a lot of fun at the Cossar State Park Fall Fest Saturday night.
My up-the-road neighbors, Lila and Garry Myrick, are sporting a pretty car. Lila said it’s not a new car, but it’s new to them.
Cossar State Park had a wonderful turnout for the Halloween event. The employees of Cossar State Park, the Cossar State Park friends’ group and volunteers made this event possible. A great time was had by all. Their monthly bingo was a lot of fun. Ping Pong Paris makes it interesting. They will be having their next bingo Nov. 19.
Your writer loved to play bingo years ago when it was so simple. I was playing at the VFW in Grenada one night and bingoed. I was so excited I yelled “Touchdown!” The guy looked back at me and said, “Honey, you’re playing bingo, not football.” It embarrassed the daylights out of me.
Little Joanna Pullen spent Sunday afternoon with her grandmother, Terri Dukes, along with her cousin, Haven Rose Dukes. The girls have so much fun playing in Terri’s big house.

1/2 cup cold water
1 beaten egg
One fryer, boiled, deboned and chopped (save at least 2 quarts of broth)

Max flour, Crisco, egg and the chilled water. Roll out and cut into thin strips. Mix broth with cream of chicken soup. Bring to a boil and drop dumpling strips into the boiling broth mixture after all other items are dropped into the mixture. Add in the chopped chicken and simmer for a few minutes.
Thought for the day: My back goes out more than I do these days.
