A Charleston man is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting to death a fellow city resident during an incident last month.
Terry Moorehead, 50, of 140 Sunnie St., is charged in the slaying of Gary McIntyre, 41, of Charleston.
Tallahatchie County Coroner Anthony Hawkins said McIntyre died March 13 after being shot multiple times with what was described as a small-caliber weapon.
Hawkins said McIntyre was pronounced dead about 10:30 p.m. at the scene of the shooting, which was the front yard of Moorehead’s 140 Sunnie St. residence.
The coroner said an autopsy was conducted at the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory in Pearl, adding that the state crime lab has not yet released its report on the examination.
Details surrounding the shooting have not been made public by the Charleston Police Department. Investigator Travis Nichols on Tuesday said the case remains under investigation, but he declined to comment further.
