The Charleston Arts and Revitalization Effort (CARE) karate program was recently the recipient of a donation from NextEra Energy Resources LLC, a clean energy company based in Florida.
CARE Executive Director Dana Clolinger said the unspecified funds were used to purchase karate T-shirts and karate belts for students to wear to their classes at the Charleston Arts Center.
On its website, NextEra Energy Resources touts itself as America’s premier clean energy leader and the world’s largest producer of wind and solar energy,
“CARE is extremely appreciative of their partnership with NextEra and their support of CARE programs,” added Clolinger.
NextEra Energy in 2022 announced tentative plans to construct a solar energy farm on some 1,000 acres of land in western Tallahatchie County — if it can first receive commitments for purchase of the electricity that would be generated there.
