Due to a scheduling quirk, both high schools in Tallahatchie County held homecoming festivities on the same date, Friday, Oct. 6.
Charleston High School crowned Shaniya Moore, the daughter of Ka'shaumie Truly of Charleston, as homecoming queen. She was escorted on the field at Tiger Stadium by her grandfather, Robert Moore.
West Tallahatchie High School crowned Nia Hooper, the daughter of Clariss Hooper and James Bridges of Glendora. She was escorted on the field at Choctaw Stadium by her father, James Bridges.
Adding to the enjoyment of homecoming attendees, both the Tigers and the Choctaws won their respective homecoming football games — Charleston by a 46-8 margin over Riverside, and West Tally by a 30-22 score over South Delta.
