Tickets are now available for the eighth Charleston Mayor’s Charity Ball, set for Saturday, March 30, at 6 p.m., in Alford’s Gym on the campus of Charleston Middle School.
Tickets are $40 and may be purchased at Charleston City Hall and the Charleston Arts Center, aka CARE building.
The Charity Ball, benefiting the American Cancer Society, features a buffet-style meal catered by Joann Hoskins of Tutwiler, a culinary arts technology instructor assistant at Coahoma Community College, as well as a formal program of speakers and presentations. Details of the program have not been announced.
Charleston Mayor Sedrick Smith Sr. said Charles “CC” Carter of Petal will entertain with his one-man show. Carter will sing, play the flute and saxophone, and DJ some numbers across multiple genres ranging from soul, jazz, gospel and more.
