Runoff election day is Tuesday, Dec. 2, with only one race on Tallahatchie County ballots.
The runoff will determine whether Curressia M. Brown of Greenwood or Justin Pope of Pope will serve the remaining two-plus years of former longtime state Sen. David Jordan of Greenwood, a Democrat who retired this year at age 92 after serving 33 years in the Senate.
They were the top two vote-getters from among a field of six candidates for the seat on Nov. 4. Brown garnered 25% of the vote and Pope 20%.
The District 24 post includes portions of Leflore, Panola and Tallahatchie counties.
