TUTWILER — Dorothy Jean Madden, age 78, passed away Thursday, Dec. 18.
Visitation will be held 1-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Clark-Williams Funeral Home in Grenada.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church near Tutwiler.

The Friendship Association District Ladies Auxiliary met October 9th at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas for their regular quarterly meeting.
The opening hymn “I Gave My Heart To Thee”, was led by Mildred Carter with Faye Wallace at the piano. Both were from the host church.

Mixing It Up with Taralou Dunklin
BACON CORN AND CRAB DIP
1 tbls olive oil
1 rib celery, minced
1/3 cup minced onion
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion salt
1/8 tsp pepper
6 oz crabmeat
1 can corn, drained
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 green onion (sliced for garnish)

Dumas Main Street buzzed with activity as crowds came to Merry Main December 5, 2025.
The event had 18 market vendors, four food trucks, two carnival rides, four carnival games, a Balloon artist, live camel rides, a face painter, Visiting with Santa and Rick Helton as Masters of Ceremony. The booths provided a varity of items for sale from ornaments, furniture, baked goods, décor, and more. Main Street showed of a clean look with the newly completed brick repairs from El Parian to the Cuttin' Corner.

New saplings will be adding to the beauty of Memorial Park after the dedication and planting ceremony held by the Arkansas Black Mayor’s Association for their Delta Community Forest Project. The ADCFP program will plant a total of 1,200 youth-aged trees at community gathering spaces and public schools within disadvantaged communities.
10 saplings now call the grounds of Memorial Park home as a part of the Delta Community Forest Project on Dumas Planting Day December 11, 2025.
The Dumas Community, members of the Dumas City Council, Desha County Extension 4-Hers and employees of the City of Dumas gathered to plant the trees after a short ceremony by Frank Bateman, Executive Director Arkansas Black Mayors Association (ABMA).
In addition to planting trees, the ABMA is working on their continuing project for flood prevention in Dumas. The Watershed program is still in the planning stages.
