The lowest gas prices in the U.S. are in Mississippi and Indiana. The Magnolia State’s average gas price has jumped $1.34 since last year, per AAA.

In other business, the State Board of Education was told that the Mississippi Department of Education is working with districts regarding the expiring hold harmless period under the new funding formula. They are also seeking clarification on the additional pay raise for special education teachers.
Nearly 76% of third graders in Mississippi’s public schools passed their first attempt at the state’s reading assessment, demonstrating a slight dip from the prior year’s initial pass rate but still in line with the state’s four-year average.

“Mississippi needs more nurses, not fewer. We should be making it easier, not harder for students to pursue advanced nursing degrees,” State Senator Nicole Boyd said of the proposed federal legislation.
Mississippi U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R) is working with other senators to pass a bill that would reverse a decision by the U.S. Department of Education that fails to classify post-baccalaureate nursing degrees as “professional degrees,” imposing stricter limits on federal student loans for nurses.

The first restaurant show I ever attended we still wrote guest checks by hand.
You took the order on a paper ticket, you carried it back, and you clipped it to a stainless steel wheel in the kitchen window. The cook spun the wheel. That was the system. That was the technology.
