East Tallahatchie School District Superintendent Ellis H. “Bucky” Smith will be stepping down from the post he has held for three years.
Smith, 57, said he is retiring when his current $92,000-per-year contract expires on June 30.
Recently, the ETSD Board of Trustees voted to offer Smith a two-year contract extension.
