No primary election in Sumner

SUMNER — The town of Sumner will not be conducting a primary election for municipal offices in April, Town Clerk Toni Clark announced Friday afternoon.

"I just spoke with the Secretary of State's Office. We are able to dispense with the election," she said.

Courthouse draws filmmakers to Sumner for miniseries about Emmett Till's mother

Winter Weather Advisory issued

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Tallahatchie County, in effect until 1 this afternoon.

Freezing rain and sleet will continue across the Mid-South into the early afternoon, the NWS reported.
