The Ole Miss baseball team will be making the 739-mile journey from Swayze Field to Charles Schwab Stadium in Omaha for the second time in four years.
The Rebels defeated Auburn, 6-4 and 5-3, to win the Auburn Super Regionals and earn a ticket to the school’s seventh trip to the College World Series. Coach Mike Bianco, who has guided the Rebels since 2001, will be taking his third Rebel team to Omaha. Bianco now ties Tom Swayze for most trips to Omaha by a head coach in Ole Miss history.

Tatiana Martin has a backyard garden in Vicksburg that demonstrates you do not need a massive landscape to create a major visual impact. Her thoughtfully planned landscape is dramatic and inviting.
One of the first plants that grabbed my attention was Double Play Candy Corn spirea, known scientifically as Spiraea japonica.

Gary Wayne O’Brien, age 68, of Ethel, passed away on June 4, 2026, at UMMC in Jackson.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel in Kosciusko. Visitation will be on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Culpepper Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Tabernacle Cemetery in Ethel. Kelly Mitchell will officiate.
