Leflore tops Charleston

The Leflore County Tigers beat the Charleston High School Tigers 20-14 on a dreary, rainy Friday night at Tiger Stadium in Charleston.

The CHS Tigers fell to 1-2 while Leflore improved to 2-1.

WEBB — Miscues and missed opportunities doomed the West Tallahatchie Choc-taws in a 14-8 overtime loss to O’Bannon Friday night.
West Tally fell to 0-2 while O’Bannon improved to 1-1.
“The defense was tremendously better than the week before. Offensively, we just didn’t execute,” said WTHS head coach Shane Hargett.

The Charleston High School Tigers dropped a 24-22 decision to the North Pontotoc Vikings during their home opener at Tiger Stadium on Friday night, Sept. 2.
Charleston fell to 1-1. North Pontotoc improved to 2-0.
CHS head coach LaDon Taylor called the game “a really tough one” to lose.
